This delightful box by Perry Holbrook is handcrafted of Birdseye Maple and Wenge woods. The lid is fused glass with a formed air bubble. The interior is felt lined and the box is finished in a high grade lacquer. 5 x 4 x 4 inches.
In his studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina Perry Holbrook employs a number of different techniques and materials to create his unique boxes. Some are carved from a single piece of wood, some turned on a lathe, some use traditional woodworking methods, some are welded steel or hand forged copper. Because he insists on making each box completely by himself, there is a limited number made each year, making them even more interesting. |
