The butterfly design is inlaid using woods with natural colors similar to that of the real butterfly. Each lid design is made by precisely cutting the pieces from different species of woods, and is made one at a time. All designs are natural wood colors and use no stains or dyes. The completed boxes are finished with a thin layer of lacquer to accentuate the natural hues of the woods, and then polished to a smooth luster with oil and wax. The interior space is undivided.
