Intriguing picture frames of painted MDF and hardwoods from the studio of Ingela Noren and Daniel Grant. A three step process consisting of a base coat of paint or sealing stain, a layer of casein emulsion (usually buttermilk and pigments), and final coats of lacquer are all that`s needed to reveal the exquisite artistry of these two very talented craftspeople. The pigment glaze is applied and manipulated through the use of various tools- stippling brushes, sponges, combs, rags, even the artists` fists and fingers- and the lacquer finish provides protection for and luster to the artwork.
Due to the handcrafting process, no two will ever be exactly alike. Colors may vary from those pictured.
